The Farms.com BidAsk Marketplace can be used in several different formats that can be tailored to the users preferences.

The "Exchange Style" format can be used as a true exchange with multiple buyers and multiple sellers participating in the same lot. (Click here to view a demo of the "Exchange Style" format.)

This format can also be used as a procurement solution. In this case, one buyer may decide to invite multiple sellers to compete online for the buyer's specified lots.

This format can also be used as a marketing solution. In this case, one seller may decide to invite multiple buyers to compete online for the seller's specified lots.

The "Auction Style" format can be used as a regular straight up auction. The seller will submit a lot listing, with a reserve price for the auctioneers to see only. (Click here to view a demo of the "Auction Style" format)

When the lot closes the lot will be listed as either "SOLD" if the current bid is above the reserve price or "Passes Over" if the current bid is below the reserve price.

This format also allows for participants to place proxy bids. When using a proxy bid, participants need not be online at the time of the event. The system will place counter bids for you, up to your proxy bid amount.
