High Health Canadian Hypor Pigs Now In Visayas & Mindanao
April 20, 2006 - Visayas, Philippines
International pig breeding company, Hypor , is pleased to announce the shipment of high health Canadian pigs into the Philippine islands Visayas and Mindanao.
Hypor exported two shipments of pigs to the Philippines , the first on Feb 7 with 350 heads, and the second on March 11 with 205 heads of GGP/ GPs of both dam and sire lines.
These shipments successfully fill up the Hypor nucleus herd for Hypig Genetics, Hypor’s distributor on the islands of Visayas and Mindanao as planned through the PSOM. Hypig Genetics and its parent company, Holly Farms, a subsidiary of Tyson Agro-Ventures Inc., has been Hypor’s distributor for the Visayas, Mindanao and the Luzon areas of the Philippines since January 1, 2006. The Tyson group is one of the Philippines’ leading livestock integrators, and establishing a nucleus pig breeding farm in the Visayas Mindanao territories is good news for the Philippine market.
Prior to January 1, 2006, Hypor animals and their high health genetics were only available in Luzon, but could not be shipped to Visayas and Mindanao because of a shipment ban. Luzon, where Hypor’s distributor was located for 25 years, is positive for FMD while Visayas and Mindanao is free of FMD.

Opting to work with the Tyson group in the Philippines, Hypor will now have the ability to supply the Visayas Mindanao market with Hypor genetics, including the three sire lines Rocky, Body and Duroc. |
