Daily Grain Comments - June 6, 2006
By: Jim Riley, QT Information Systems
Corn Update: ECBOT market was pretty quiet overnight on continued selling on light volume. Traders said they saw fund liquidation yesterday on expectations of a good crop progress report and continued good weather across the corn belt. Funds sold 8,000 contracts yesterday, about double the number that was bot on Friday with traders saying that it was fund liquidation and profit taking. Traders estimated crop conditions of good/excellent at 70% and actual USDA number was 71% released after the close. As one trader said, market moved higher in anticipation of hot/dry weather and it just didn’t materialize with the consensus weather forecast now bearish for corn. Even though the rain coverage is supposed to be 50%, totals could be spotty.

Career Management: Whose Responsibility? ~ AgCareers.com
Career Management is no longer in the forefront of the company. Nor is it solely the responsibility of the individual, as current pundits are, apt to tell us. The reality is employees are the greatest resource any company has and it's never wise to use your resources imprudently. Sometimes we worry about our resources only after there is a problem. For example, some of our concern over the environment is after the fact as we hear of global warming, salmon in danger of extinction, and gang wars among young bull elephants in Africa who have no male role models. It may be too late in many cases. Perhaps now is the time to take a thoughtful look at how we are dealing with our people resources.

Daily Grain Comments - June 6, 2006
By: Nate Smith, QT Information Systems
Bean Update: July Soybeans closed down 5 ¾ cents after Fridays rally. Overnight we are slightly weaker, ending the night session down an additional penny. Traders say favorable weather and fund-driven selling is casting an overall bearish tone on the Soybean complex today. The USDA released it’s weekly crop progress reports indicating that U.S. Soybeans were off to a good start. Initial ratings show that 70% of the crop was rated good to excellent, above trader estimates for 65% to 69% and above the year ago rating of 62%. The USDA said the crop was 89% planted lagging trade estimates for 90% to 94% planted but ahead of the 5 year average of 81% planted. The USDA reported export inspections of U. S. soybeans last week at 9.2 mil. bu. within the range of estimates for 6 to 11 mil. bu. Funds on Monday Sold 2,500 Soybeans, 1,000 oil and bought 3000 Meal. Chinese Soybean futures closed mixed overnight. Malaysian Palm oil futures closed mixed.

| The Dynamic Pricing Platform ~ Farmstech.com |
|
 |
|
The Online Tool for Grain Procurement
Our flagship product for online grain procurement, the Dynamic Pricing Platform (DPP), is now in use in over 20 grain buying facilities in the states of Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Kansas. Over the next several months, we will be adding additional facilities in these states as well as new locations in Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
In the Dynamic Pricing Platform, Farms Technology has created a software tool that electronically connects all 3 participants in the grain procurement process via the Internet. The DPP connects the futures market to the grain buyer to the grain producer and, if a transaction is made, the DPP can automatically generate a futures order to hedge the recent grain purchase on behalf of the buyer.
