Martin Widdowson Joins PigCHAMP

Ames, IA – PigCHAMP, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Martin Widdowson, as Software Development Manager. As such, he will coordinate development of new and existing software products with members of the development team, and will work closely with senior management as products are brought to the marketplace.

Widdowson was previously Senior Analyst Programmer for PIC, Inc., out of the company’s headquarters in Franklin, Kentucky. He was with PIC for 17 years before joining PigCHAMP earlier this month.

Born in Shropshire, England, Widdowson graduated from the University of Leeds at Yorkshire, England, where he majored in animal science. Shortly thereafter, he began working for PIC as a management trainee. He was identified to write software to help support the company’s contract involving pigs sold into the Ukraine. This pc-based software became the precursor for Pigtales. At that point, he joined the Pigtales team to market the program in the United States and was, ironically, located in Ames, Iowa.

Eventually, PIC acquired a product called EasiCare, a DOS-based program. That product, and the software product Widdowson had worked on earlier were used as the foundation for a new Windows-based software program called PigCare. Widdowson was an integral part of the development team for PigCare. At this point, he moved to PIC’s U.S. headquarters in Franklin.
